Abstract
Virtual reality (VR) is a technology that allows users to immerse into computer-simulated environment. Its flexibility and interactivity has brought a huge contribution into the education field such as allowing students to experience the settings of various professions in order to learn about careers (Pilgrim and Pilgrim, 2016) and also provide visual field trips by only using a smartphone. This paper has been conducted to research the trend of VR in education field and the benefits for tertiary students that by integrating the VR into their education. Moreover, the acceptance levels towards the implementation of VR in tertiary education and the challenges have also been studied. A data collection has been done through online questionnaire (i.e. Google form) to gather opinions from different universities. In conclusion, VR is not a trend in tertiary education but there is a high acceptance among tertiary students to implement it.
