Fees Glossary

 

Following are fees payable for each level of programme study. 

 

Registration Fee

Registration fee relates to student registration with TAR UMT. This is a one-time fee charged for each level of programme study. 

 

Orientation & Activity Fee

This fee relates to activities to help new students to make a smooth transition to campus life, including orientation, academic matters briefing, understanding departmental services, participation in workshops and other campus life activities. This is a one-time fee charged for each level of programme study.

 

Caution Money

Deposit less any liability such as breakages, unpaid fees, etc is refundable after student graduates or withdraws. This is a one-time deposit payable for each level of programme study. 

 

Facilities & Resource Fee

Facilities & Resource fee is payable for the maintenance of infrastructure, hardware & software and services provided. They include on-campus and off-campus e-learning platform & support, Cyber Centre, library services, internet access, utilities for facilities & resources, bus services, sports & recreation facilities, etc. This fee is payable each year by intake session for each level of programme study.

 

Laboratory/Workshop Fee

Laboratory/Workshop fee is payable for the use of hardware & software at laboratory/workshop. They include purchase of laboratory equipment and computers, equipment calibration fees, software license fees, chemicals & consumables, utilities for laboratory/workshop, maintenance of special dedicated venue/ laboratory and other ancillary expenses in order to meet programme and course level needs. This fee is payable each year by intake session for each level of programme study.

 

Special Administration Fee

This fee is charged for administrative work carried out in relation to accreditation by professional bodies/institute for a programme of study. This fee is payable each year by intake session for each level of programme study.

 

Award Assessment

This fee is charged in the final year of studies for the administrative work leading to the award of the certificate. This is a one-time fee charged for each level of programme study.

 

International Student Administrative Fee (ISAF)

This is an administrative fee charged for the administrative support and services rendered to international students on all entry pass/visa (e.g. student pass, etc) related matters, arrival services, accommodation and/or transport arrangements, liaisons with government authorities/Embassies/Consulates and other related activities. This fee is payable each year by intake session for each level of programme study.
