TAR UC Students Emerge Top in ACCA Examinations

As an institution of higher learning that prides itself on its professionally driven academic programmes, it is no surprise that Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (‘TAR UC’) students are among the top achievers in the world when it comes to professional examinations. Such is the case for two TAR UC students namely Ee Sun Zhe who emerged top in Malaysia and second in the world for ACCA Paper P5 Advanced Performance Management and Lim Si Ying who was top in Malaysia and fifth in the world for ACCA Paper P1 Governance, Risk and Ethics in the December 2015 examinations.

Ee Sun Zhe who recently completed her Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in TAR UC, attributed her success to TAR UC’s syllabus and her dedicated lecturers. “Besides testing students’ knowledge, the ACCA examinations also test how well students are able to apply theories in simulated case studies. TAR UC’s syllabus is tailored to help students gain deeper understanding and insights. In addition to this, my lecturers are not only knowledgeable in the subjects they teach, but more importantly, they are very committed to ensuring students really understand what is being taught in class. I am grateful for their dedication in conducting revision classes for students before examinations and always making themselves available to clear any doubts students may have,” she explained in detail.

Sun Zhe is also a firm believer in ‘hard work pays off’. As such, besides depending on her study notes, she also attempted to answer many past year question papers as part of her preparation for the examinations. “Answering past year question papers not only helped me in my revision but it also allowed me to practise presenting my answers well within the stipulated timeframe.  Thankfully, TAR UC library has all the reading resources and materials to help in my revision including past year examination papers,” she continued.

Lim Si Ying, on the other hand, is currently pursuing her last semester of the Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) programme. As her ambition is to become an accountant, Si Ying came to TAR UC with great determination to study accounting and finance. “As I planned to obtain my ACCA qualification through my tertiary education, TAR UC was the best choice for me as this institution is recognised by ACCA as the Platinum Approved Learning Partner which gives me the assurance that the quality of teaching is excellent. Besides this, TAR UC has a remarkable track record of students doing very well in the ACCA examinations,” she shared.

Si Ying also attributed her success to TAR UC’s professionally driven academic syllabus and its team of lecturers who are highly committed to delivering excellent education to the students. “The syllabus is very well structured, which enabled me to be fully prepared to sit for the ACCA external examination. Moreover, we were also trained in coursework and internal progress examinations which resemble the actual ACCA examinations. This helped me to improve my skills in answering the questions as well as to better manage the stress. Besides that, I am grateful that my lecturers taught me the proper techniques in answering the examination questions, which were of great help to me in the examinations,” she commented further.

In addition to the students’ successes, TAR UC’s performance in the December 2015 ACCA examinations has surpassed the ACCA World Pass Rates for all seven ACCA Professional Level papers. Such achievement cements TAR UC’s position as ACCA’s Platinum Approved Learning Partner, which is the highest accreditation by ACCA to universities and colleges globally under the ACCA’s Approved Learning Partner – Student Tuition programme

As ACCA’s Platinum Approved Learning Partner, TAR UC is also placed in the top 5% of ACCA tuition providers around the world. Moreover, TAR UC is the only institution in the world to conduct the Internally Assessed ACCA Fundamentals (Skills Module) programme. All these accolades are the result of TAR UC’s focus on providing all-round education that is professionally driven, entrepreneurship-focused and industry-relevant.
