5 November 2021 turned out to be a day of collaboration and innovation as the project between TAR UC and Advantech Co. Malaysia Sdn Bhd “AIoT Developer InnoWorks” programme concluded with its final presentation held at the Kuala Lumpur Main Campus in Setapak.

The programme which began in July 2021 had 20 students, divided into 10 teams, conceptualised innovative ideas into working proposals on practical applications of Internet of Things (‘IoT’) concepts to improve everyday lives.

After the final presentation in front of a panel of judges, Team E and F were given the “Best Team Award” for their innovative proposals on “Mask Detection, Area Security, Social Distancing” and “Multi-Storey Robot Delivery System” respectively.

An education initiative by Advantech, the AIoT Developer InnoWorks is an enterprise-academia collaboration project created to help cultivate skilled talents in the fields of AI and IoT.

“This collaboration project between TAR UC and Advantech is a great example of university-industry collaborations that we are always pursuing at TAR UC.

“We are grateful that Advantech have confidence in our students to bring their programme here, and we look forward to many more collaborations like this that can bring benefits outside the classrooms to our students,” said Prof Ir Dr Lee Sze Wei, President of TAR UC, in his speech.

The final presentation session was also attended by Mr Elvin Ng, General Manager of Advantech Co. Malaysia Sdn Bhd, and senior officials from TAR UC and Advantech.
