On 8 - 9 October 2018, TAR UC hosted the inaugural Southeast Asia Institute for Transformational Entrepreneurship ('SEAITE') Symposium at its Kuala Lumpur Main Campus which gathered enterprising minds to discuss the potential of entrepreneurship education spearheading sustainable economic growth in the Southeast Asia region.

With a dozen speakers from the United Kingdom, Ireland, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia, audience were exposed to discussions focused on how entrepreneurship could transform industries and potential ways to tap into entrepreneurship via education in order to meet the challenges of today.

The talks included one keynote address titled 'Transformational Entrepreneurship' and three tracks lined up over the two-day symposium organised by Centre for Business Incubation & Entrepreneurial Ventures ('CBIEV') in collaboration with Coventry University.

"Entrepreneurship has become a very important aspect of universities and TAR UC understands that entrepreneurship is also an educational initiative that can benefit the students. That is why we have platforms like the iSpark @ TARC programme that provides a conducive environment for our students to connect with entrepreneurship experts, stakeholders and corporate leaders who can share their insights attained from their experience.

"We hope this symposium will further equip our students to not just excel in pursuit of their career aspirations, but also have the ability to create jobs for themselves," said Prof Ir Dr Lee Sze Wei, President of TAR UC in his welcoming address.

The SEAITE Symposium saw an overall attendance of over 250 individuals comprising entrepreneurial students, staff, alumni, various business leaders, social entrepreneurs and potential investors.
