Organised by the TARCian Alumni Association (‘TAA’), an alumni body of TAR UC, together with TAR UC, TARCian Run is a fun-filled mini marathon with the objective of raising fund towards the TARC Education Foundation to financially support the construction of a Student Centre in TAR UC Kuala Lumpur Main Campus.

  2. Ajiya Berhad

In addition, Star Media Group and Sin Chew Media Corporation Sdn Bhd also joined in as media partners of TARCian Run 2016. There were also a few lucky draw sessions where many attractive prizes were given out. Two of the grand prizes were Apple Ipad Air 2 and Apple Iphone SE.

The flag-off point which was in front of the Sports Complex of TAR UC’s Kuala Lumpur Main Campus, was abuzz with activities since the wee hours of the morning. At 7.00am, 11 km run was flagged off by Datuk Dr Tan Chik Heok, President of TAR UC. Subsequently at 7.15am, the 8 km run was flagged off by Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Barry Goh, TAA Executive Advisor.

The route of the run was by no means an easy feat, as there were hilly terrains in the route map where runners found to be challenging. One of the runners who eventually became the Champion of the Open – Women 11km run, Ms Sheela Samivellu, concurred as she said: “The hilly course was tough but nice to run. The race is good for runners. It keeps us fit and healthy. I clocked my personal best in this run and will always support it.” This young lass was also champion in the previous TARCian Run held last year. Another runner, Ng Hun Jie, who is a TAR UC Bachelor of Business (Hons) in International Business student and also Chairman of the Student Representative Council at TAR UC said: “I find groups of students joining this run out of their own accord, and I think that it is a wonderful opportunity for them to mingle and at the same time indulge in healthy pursuit.”
