In light of TAR UC's aim to promote service excellence by elevating the quality of service to students, it launched the Service Excellence Campaign on 3 November 2016 at the foyer of Red Bricks Cafeteria in Kuala Lumpur Main Campus.

This campaign's objective was to further inculcate the spirit of serving in providing excellent service in TAR UC. The initiative enlisted the assistance of Student Representative Council ('SRC') in enhancing the warm and conducive environment on campus for the students, one that is based on mutual respect and understanding. The committee of the campaign also introduced a badge that is to be worn by all staff with their name written on it together with a motto 'Serve, Smile, Shine' imprinted on the badge as a reminder to TAR UC community the core values of TAR UC. As part of the promotion of service excellence, there would be facebook postings, video posting, 'smiley' badges and Best Employee Award which recognises employees who render excellent service to students.

During the launching, Ms Kho Sok Kee, Vice President of TAR UC, gave a speech that enlightened the audience on the core of the spirit to serve. She said: "For this campaign, we have a mission statement where we will promote a culture of excellence in whatever we do. You may ask, "Do we welcome you? Do we hear you? Did I value you? Did I help you? And there will be four 'yes's that we need our staff to answer. A smile is an act of love. Let us all drive excellence in the way we serve, smile, shine."

The launch gambit was executed by both Datuk Dr Tan Chik Heok, President of TAR UC, and Ms Kho Sok Kee by injecting a liquid into a tube which formed the smile on the 'smiley' poster, much to the delight of the audience. There was also a smiley exchange where staff pinned the smiley badge for each other.Last but not least, there were performances put up by TAR UC Choir and TAR UC Cheerleading team, 'Puzzle'.
