Citing the solid track record of TAR UC in producing high achievers in the A Level examinations, Tee Wern Shen shared the reason for her to study in TAR UC. “I did extensive research on various higher learning institutions before deciding where I would pursue my A Level. And there is no doubt that TAR UC stands out as the best institution of higher learning because of its consistency in producing high achievers for the examinations,” she said.

Meanwhile, Hor Sui Lyn who was the high achiever in Computing shared her rationale for studying in TAR UC. “I chose to study in TAR UC because the A Level programme contains the subject on Computing. And I do not regret studying in TAR UC because the syllabus is very compact and comprehensive and is presented to students in a very systematic manner. I am more confident to advance my education in the area of computing and technology as I know that the A Level programme in TAR UC has built in me a strong foundation in the area of computing and technology,” she added.

As for Tee Zhen Lee, obtaining the top placing in the world for Mathematics came as a surprise to him. “The thought of being top in the world in Mathematics did not even cross my mind. Having said this, I am deeply grateful to my lecturers for their dedication in ensuring that I clearly understand the content of the syllabus,” he elaborated.

TAR UC has also recorded an impressive pass percentage of 93.9% for A Level and a staggering pass rate of 98.6% for AS Level in the November 2015 examination. Mr Ng Kim Huat, Country Director, Malaysia & Brunei, Cambridge International Examinations, praised the students and the Centre for Pre-University Studies (‘CPUS’) team. “It is extremely rewarding to congratulate Cambridge learners and teachers at CPUS who have worked so hard to achieve tremendous success in Cambridge International AS & A Level examinations. The results are a reflection of the enormous talent in Malaysia, not only amongst learners but also within the teaching profession. Learners from CPUS in TAR UC have a bright future ahead of them, and I wish them every success in their future,” he commented.

Meanwhile, Datuk Dr Tan Chik Heok, President of TAR UC, was very pleased with the achievements delivered by the students and the team in CPUS.  He said: “CPUS has demonstrated its consistency in providing excellent pre-university education and our students’ performance in A Level examinations has been very outstanding. The fact that many of our students gained admission into prestigious universities in the world testifies the quality of our teaching in A Level to prepare the students for tertiary education. I am proud of Zhen Lee, Wern Shen and Sui Lyn’s achievements who are among the many of TAR UC’s Cambridge Outstanding Learner Award winners.
