The International Conference on Digital Transformation and Applications (ICDXA) 2024 took place at TAR UMT from 29 to 30 January, bringing together worldwide leading academics, industry experts, policymakers and TAR UMT students to explore the latest advancements and challenges in digital transformation. The conference generated exciting discussions and insights into how digital technologies are reshaping various aspects of the business world and our lives.

The conference focused on four tracks which are Industry 4.0 and Digital Transformation, Computing and Internet Technology, Computational Mathematics and Data Science, and Digital Innovation and Business Applications

Among the esteemed keynote speakers included Mr Kamarul Muhamed, Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of Aerodyne Group, a Malaysian-based drone solutions provider that is ranked first in the world, who shared about building resilience through digital transformation.

During the event, TAR UMT students also showcased 23 final-year projects of cutting-edge applications in data science, AI, computing technology, digital innovation, and business applications. These included projects like real-world interactive virtual aquarium, smart home system management solution, blockchain-based durian track and trace system, robotic arm solution, and company secretary apps.

Loh Xiang Hui whose project is on the real-world interactive virtual aquarium solution shared about his project: “The concept of my project is to allow users to see their handiwork appear virtually in the aquarium setting. It is an interactive tool which relates to people from all age groups, especially children. In addition, I believe my project has the potential to be used in the currently constructed Student Centre, where the system can be used as an interactive display of information for visitors.”
