The career fair bustled with students and recruiters.

TAR UC’s Department of Student Affairs organised a career fair which took place on 15-16 March 2016. This annual event which was held at the University College Hall provided an avenue for companies to source for potential employees amongst the students of TAR UC.

A total of 51 companies participated in the fair which included PwC Malaysia, KPMG, A’Famosa Resort and Public Bank Berhad. “In a year, a total of three career fairs are being organised to benefit the students who are not only seeking for good internship opportunities, but also to land themselves a full time job once they graduate,” explained Ms Kanimoli from the Department of Student Affairs.

Participating for the first time in this career fair, Ms Lyna Tay of A’Famosa Resort had this to share: “We are currently recruiting for a few departments in A’Famosa. Thus we participate in this fair to source for qualified individuals to join our team. There is no hesitation on joining as a participant for this fair as we are well aware that TAR UC students are highly capable and hardworking”. PwC Malaysia also had good words to say about TAR UC students. “PwC Malaysia has forged a strong relationship with TAR UC over the years. In fact, we have recruited a number of TAR UC students to join our team and they are doing very well in their careers. As such, we are here today hoping to recruit more high calibre students to join the PwC Malaysia team,” Ms Marlene Liew, recruiter with PwC Malaysia, elaborated.

TAR UC students who visited the career fair were grateful to the University College for organising the fair. “The fair was organised very efficiently and the companies that took part are well recognised in their respective fields. I am glad that such career fairs are organised by TAR UC as it is convenient for us students to apply for internship in different companies at one location,” shared Liew Zi En, a Diploma in Science (Business Information Systems) student. Rashida Binti Shakir Hussain, a Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons) in Internet Technology student expressed her satisfaction over this career fair. “This fair truly benefits the students and it is encouraging to see the participation of so many companies at this fair. This cements the fact that TAR UC students are indeed highly sought after by industries,” she further commented.
