TAR University College students excel once again. This time, they produced an award-winning film. A team of four Bachelor of Communication (Hons) in Broadcasting students was one of the top ten teams to win the Youth Video Award at the YOLO Creative Video Award 2015 competition. Organised by the Malaysia Youth Community together with Life Insurance Association of Malaysia, the event was held on 21 September 2015 in one of the major shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur.

The competition aims to create a platform for students to showcase their creative productions to the public and this year, there were over 541 participants from 20 higher learning institutions participating in this competition.

The winning team comprising Lai Loke Yee, Koon Pak Fei, Kwok Su Lin and Choo Lok Tien produced a short film titled ‘Un-Talk, with which won them RM500 in cash, a trophy and certificates.

The film, ‘Un-Talk’, tells the story of the unconditional love of a father towards his daughter and how the daughter takes her father’s love for granted. The film ends with an accident involving the daughter and although the daughter mistreats her father, he is present to take care of her in the hospital. This makes her repent, as she realises the true value of her father’s love.

Team member Lai Loke Yee shared: “Winning as one of the top ten teams is a great encouragement to us. Broadcasting is a very hands-on field and TAR University College has all the comprehensive studios and experienced lecturers to guide us in our programme. I believe all these advantages gave us the competitive edge to produce this film”.
