The race which was modeled after the famous ‘Amazing Race’ was held on 9 April 2016 where a total of 25 teams from 14 higher learning institutions participated in the race.

TAR UC champion team named as 'Beat Bang' is made up of three students who are Wong Hon Beng and Hei Min Fen who are studying the Bachelor of Quantity Surveying (Hons), and Lee Jun Hao who is currently studying the Diploma in Technology (Quantity Surveying). The team had to travel to five different stations located in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya to complete the different tasks provided by the race organiser. The participating teams were required to perform practical and industry-related quantity surveying tasks such as computation of professional fees, pricing of Bill of Quantities and preliminary cost estimation.

"The questions that we had to solve were very much practical questions. However, what we have learnt in our syllabus proved to be helpful for us to solve the questions," shared Min Fen on her experience in the race. Besides this, Jun Hao shared a rather interesting side of his experience in this race as he said: "We were actually the last group to complete the task at the first station and it was a very tense moment for us. Nevertheless, we were determined to finish the entire task given to us to the best of our abilities, not knowing that the team that completes all the tasks will be named as the Champion team. We were very happy when our team was named as the Champion team in this race".

Team Beat Bang won a total cash prize of RM3,000 and each member received a trophy and certificate. Besides Beat Bang, another team from TAR UC that participated in this race was team 'Domina TAR', comprising team members namely Leong Pui Yian and Edmond Tan Chia Fook who are students of the Bachelor of Quantity Surveying (Hons) and Wong Soon Kang who is studying the Diploma in Technology (Quantity Surveying).
