TAR UMT’s men and women basketball teams signed off 2025 in style after dominating their final competition of the year in the University Basketball League (UBL) 2025 held from 28 September – 16 November 2025.

In the finals, the men’s team scored a 99 – 49 victory against Sunway University while the women’s team defeated Universiti Malaya 78 – 32, to secure the men’s and women’s champion titles respectively.

“Both teams played extremely well, and everyone worked well as one unit in pursuit of the champion title. Most importantly, both teams demonstrated a consistent high level of basketball which I am very proud of.

“Credit goes to each and every player who had to juggle their own respective academic schedules, exams, assignments, and still make time for all the training sessions in order to compete at their best level. This accomplishment is a culmination of everyone’s sacrifices, and I am looking forward to more achievements with this team in 2026,” said Matthew Lim, a representative of TAR UMT basketball team.
