Provision of healthy and affordable food choices in TAR UMT KL Campus

As one of the higher education institution in Malaysia, TAR UMT has been providing a wide range of healthy and nutritional foods at an affordable price to students in order for them gain a healthy living as follows:

  1. To maintain a good physical health
  2. To boost their academic performance
  3. To ensure the students maintain good emotion everyday
  4. To support the students weight management
  5. To provide nutrition for students healthy sleeping habits

In the KL campus, we have few cafeterias, food courts and café to provide the local cuisine such as nasi lemak, soup noodle, bread and buns, cakes, mix rice with combination of dishes, vegetarian foods, Indian foods, roti canai, Malay foods, Japanese Sushi, Korean Bento, convenience stores and different type of beverages to cater the needs of the students from different background, different races and different states in Malaysia and also not to forget our International students.

TAR UMT would consistently monitor all the foods sold to be at reasonable and affordable prices in the campus and would frequently inspect the eateries to ensure all foods and areas were being kept hygienic for their patrons.

Reasonable and affordable food prices on Campus

The food prices at the Canteen/ Cafeteria on Campus are always cheaper and affordable if compared with the private food outlets outside the campus to ensure that students will remain consumed inside the campus rather than go to take the meals outside the campus.

Below is the comparison of the prices of similar food items at the eating place on campus and outside the campus in year 2023:

Based on the above food price comparison chart, it is very obvious that the price at the food outlets outside the campus has dramatically increased due to inflation nationwide. However, the TAR UMT Management is able to have price control for most of the food items sold on campus at the affordable prices to ensure all the students are able to buy the foods without increasing their burden of campus life.
