A Glorious Celebration for TAR College Diploma and Advanced Diploma Graduates



‘Tis the time of the year when different cohorts of graduates celebrate the middle or the end of their educational journey at TAR College and possibly the continuation of their educational journey to UK yonder or the commencement of their working life.  There were 5 sessions of Diploma graduands and 2 sessions of the Advanced Diploma graduands this year at the KL Main Campus and one or two sessions each at the Branch Campuses, to cater to a total of 8,387 Diploma and Advanced Diploma graduating students.  In KL Main Campus, there were a total of 3,643 Diploma graduands and 2,777 Advanced Diploma graduands, and the rest from Branch Campuses.  The sessions at the KL Main Campus were spread across 3 weekends, starting from 24-25 November to 1 and 15 December 2012 at the College Hall.

Dignitaries, lecturers, parents, friends and staff were present to share in the enjoyment and joy of the graduands in this momentous occasion.  Parents, lecturers and staff, all played a part in assisting the students achieve their goals.  During the convocation, speeches were given by the Council Members, namely, YB Datuk Chua Tee Yong and YB Tan Sri Dr Fong Chan Onn, as well as the Principal/ Vice Principal addressing the audience at large, but principally, the graduands, giving them a thought or two about going out into the world and making a mark for themselves.  During the speech, the VIPs reiterated: “Human capital forms the backbone of the advancement of a nation and hence, human capital development is of paramount importance for Malaysia in its quest to achieve high income nation status.  To attain this end, the country is depending on a highly skilled talent base that is able to rapidly respond creatively to economic changes.”   For more than 4 decades, TAR College has been responding to the call of the nation for quality human capital and the convocation demonstrated the College commitment towards meeting the needs of the country.

‘Our Diploma is well-recognised by many foreign universities and granted advanced standing or credit transfer to Year 2, if not Year 3 of relevant Bachelor degree programmes at many overseas universities.  On the other hand, our Advanced Diploma graduates are eligible to pursue Masters in foreign universities as the Advanced Diploma has earned recognition in many universities to be accepted for admission into their postgraduate programmes.  Besides that, TAR College graduates are highly sought after in the industries for their skills and knowledge and the success of our 160,000 alumni is testament to the fact.
