TAR College has built an excellent track record in producing a long string of achievers in the ACCA professional examinations since the 1970s, and the most recent award winners, Teh Hoay Ying and Cheow Hui Yee who topped in Malaysia for paper P3, Business Analysis and paper P2, Corporate Reporting respectively, in the December 2012 examination, had a lot of positive things to say about studying at TAR College to prepare them for the ACCA examination. Hoay Ying, an Advanced Diploma in Commerce (Financial Accounting) student, commended the lecturers for their continuous guidance and motivation which inspired her to keep striving until the finishing line. She had a three-step study method. Firstly, she would get an overview of the study text. Then, she would understand the concepts and finally, take note of the important points. “Despite all the hard work and pressure, the outcome of the experience has been rewarding,” said the young lass.

As for Hui Yee, she praised TAR College for having good facilities that assisted her in her studies. The Library was a place for her to do her revision and homework during examination period. “The library is well-stocked with a lot of academic books and when I encountered difficulties or questions, I would go to the Library to get all the reading and research materials to clear the matter. I also use the computing facilities in the Cyber Centre to search for more information in preparing for the examination.”

In relation to the Advanced Diploma in Commerce (Financial Accounting) programme, Hoay Ying and Hui Yee feel that the syllabus for the programme is challenging and of high standards. The academic rigor of the programme prepares the students well for professional examinations such as ACCA and their results are a clear testament to the quality.
