TAR UC Students Excel in Sports

TAR UC Table Tennis Squad bagged home a total of 1 gold, 2 silvers and 2 bronzes at the event.

Congratulations to TAR UC contingent for having won a total of 3 gold, 7 silver and 17 bronze medals to obtain 4th placing amongst 30 universities and colleges at the recently concluded Higher Education Sports Fest (‘HESF'18’) held in Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (‘UTeM’). 

Two golds came from the TAR UC Swim Team on the 2nd day of the event. The first gold came from Logan Wong Venh Chieh, a 1st year Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science student who emerged as champion in the Men’s 1500m Freestyle while his senior coursemate, Yipp Sin Hung bagged a bronze medal. The second gold was from a 1st year Diploma in Technology (Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering) student, Cheong Jia Wen at her pet event, Women’s 50m Breaststroke. On the whole, the TAR UC Swim Team garnered a total of 2 gold, 4 silver and 13 bronze medals at the event.

The 3rd gold came from the Table Tennis Women’s Team consisting of Ho Xue Hua, Yong Mun Sin, Ashley Koh Shein Vern, Chu Yee Rou and Goh Sze Ming. The Table Tennis squad also brought home two silvers in Men’s Single and Men’s Double categories while another two bronze medals were from the Men’s Team and Women’s Double. Altogether, the TAR UC Table Tennis Squad brought home 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.

Chia Lee Mei, a 2nd year Diploma student currently studying Quantity Surveying won silver in Women’s High Jump while her teammate, Ng Hui Ai, took the bronze. Another bronze medal in athletics came from Tan Qi Han in the Men’s Long Jump.
